LabelSeek Privacy Policy

Effective October 14, 2026

LabelSeek doesn't collect, store, sell or send any of your data. Everything it does happens inside your browser, on your device.

What LabelSeek reads

LabelSeek is a Chrome extension that shows the accessible name of every form control, link, button, image and table on a web page. To do that, while the LabelSeek side panel is open and scanning, it reads the page in your active tab:

LabelSeek reads nothing when the panel is closed or when scanning is paused. It never reads pages in tabs you aren't looking at.

What it does with that information

It uses the information only to show results in the side panel and to highlight elements on the page. All of it is processed on your device.

Things you choose to do

Some features only run when you click them:

Copied text and exported files can include the page's title and address and snippets of its HTML. Once they're on your clipboard or computer, they're yours to manage. Please keep that in mind before sharing results from private or sign-in-only pages.

Permissions and why LabelSeek needs them

Side panel (sidePanel)
Shows LabelSeek in Chrome's side panel.
Read and change data on the sites you visit (<all_urls>, scripting)
Lets LabelSeek scan whichever page you open it on and draw highlights on that page. It only runs while the panel is open and scanning, and it doesn't change the page's content.
Write to the clipboard (clipboardWrite)
Lets the copy buttons work.

Sharing and selling

We don't sell, rent, share or transfer any user data to anyone, and we don't use it for advertising, credit decisions or any purpose other than LabelSeek's single purpose: showing you the accessible names on the page you're looking at. LabelSeek's use of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Changes to this policy

If LabelSeek ever handles data differently, we'll update this page and the effective date above before the change ships.
